Marcat Dance is the artistic home of Mario Bermúdez Gil, the multi-award-winning Spanish choreographer, and American dancer Catherine Coury, co-founder of the company. Based in Spain—in Vilches, Jaén—Marcat is dedicated to sharing its creativity and joy of movement through performances, creations, and workshops taught around the world. Marcat Dance believes in the power of imagination, in taking creative risks and in the continuous exploration of the body's dynamics. Marcat Dance connects with the human spirit and finds inspiration in different cultures, rituals and landscapes around the world.
El origen de la investigación de la compañía parte de un impulso, el movimiento nace de la improvisación. Utilizan la espontaneidad y la intuición como raíz, no existen formas fijas, no hay límites o formas concretas, tampoco un sitio claro al que llegar. No buscan un estilo, solo cambio y transformación.
Carmen Fumero and Miguel Zomas are freelance dancers who research and develop their own language through their projects, while also collaborating as performers for other prestigious dance companies.
